Sanrio fans now have a place to meet Hello Kitty in person while also shopping exclusive merchandise in Orlando.
Hello Kitty Universal Orlando is now open. Universal streamed the opening live on Periscope.
The Hello Kitty store replaces the "Lucy: A Tribute" attraction, which closed last year. The attraction tribute and gift shop was dedicated to all things Lucille Ball and "I Love Lucy."
While this is not the first Sanrio store to ever exist in Orlando (there was a Sanrio store at Mall at Millennia, which closed in January), or even the first theme park to sell Hello Kitty merchandise (Epcot sells merchandise in the Japan pavilion), this larger location will offer some features the other stores didn't.
The store is divided into four, unique sections: Hello Kitty Town, Hello Kitty Sweet Yummy Shop, Hello Kitty Lounge and Hello Kitty at the Movies.
The store also has merchandise from other Sanrio characters, including Chococat, My Melody, Keroppi and more.
You also be able to find dozens of sweet treats like Keroppi S'more Fudge, Hello Kitty Chocolate Cupcakes and Strawberry Rainbow Fudge.
Universal says the new store will be an interactive experience. You'll be able to create your own version of Hello Kitty's iconic bow and custom design other merchandise.
