Walt Disney World will provide updates next week about several attractions coming to its theme parks in 2016, and News 13 will bring it to you as it happens.

  • Disney to preview new attractions, shops Monday-Wednesday
  • News 13 will be there to bring you full details

On Monday, Disney is expected to unveil a preview of a fourth area at Disney Springs called the Town Center, expected to open this summer. The "neighborhood" will feature new dining, shopping and entertainment options. The company says Town Center will be the largest retail expansion at Disney World Resort.

On Monday night, we'll bring you live pictures from Star Wars Launch Bay, a new attraction featuring replica props and memorabilia from the movies that opened in December at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the new Star Wars-themed fireworks and light show, "Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular," which debuts this month. Disney says it's the most elaborate fireworks display in the history of Disney's Hollywood Studios.

On Day 2, we’ll be taking a closer look at the new attractions and entertainment at three parks: Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney representatives will share details about the new “Frozen” attraction, Frozen Ever After, which is expected to open this year, although an official date has not been announced. Maybe we’ll find out Tuesday.

Frozen Ever After is in the Norway pavilion at Epcot where Maelstrom used to be. The attraction will be a boat ride that takes guest on a journey through Arendelle. Part of the Norway pavillion is also expanding to include a meet-and-greet location so guests can meet movie characters Anna and Elsa.

We’re also expected to learn about redeveloped Soarin’, now dubbed “Soarin’ Around the World.” Instead of just flying over scenic spots in California, guests will get to see some of the world’s most unique landscapes and wonders.

It’s the summer of Star Wars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Additional Star Wars-themed offerings are being added to the park. That includes the stage show “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away," which debuted April 4.

Also Tuesday, we’ll head to Animal Kingdom to learn about the new “Rivers of Light” nighttime show. Even though the show has been delayed from its original April 22 debut, we hope to see how work has progressed and learn more about what guests will see during the performance.

And on Wednesday, Disney Parks executives will provide updates on the company's upcoming Avatar, Toy Story and Star Wars lands, as well as progress -- and perhaps a launch date? -- on Epcot's Soarin' ride, closed for months for a refresh.

News 13 will be Tweeting live from the three-day Disney summer media event, so be sure to check our website, Facebook page and Twitter feed for complete coverage starting Monday morning.
