Looking for fun and adventure this weekend? Here's our top choices for big events taking place in the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas:

Orlando area

Universal Mardi Gras

The Fat Tuesday celebration continues, this time featuring a special concert with Grammy-winning hip-hop artist T-Pain. T-Pain will take the Music Plaza stage at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission to the Mardi Gras concerts, parades and more is included with your Universal Studios admission. More information about Universal Mardi Gras is available on their website. Orlando City Soccer vs. Portland Timbers

Orlando City Soccer takes on the Portland Timbers Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Citrus Bowl. It'll be the team's first home match in nearly three weeks, and almost all of the team's players — including Kaká and David Mateos — will be back in the lineup after being out due to injury. Tickets are available for purchase at the Orlando City SC website. Central Florida Native Plant Sale

Pick up some native Florida plants for your landscaping or gardening needs. More than 1,000 Florida friendly native plants will be available, including trees, shrubs, flowers and groundcover, as well as native milkweed for Monarch butterflies. Come early for the best selection! Admission is free. The sale happens from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Osceola Heritage Park, located at 1901 Chief Osceola Trail in Kissimmee. Visit their website for more information.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival at Walt Disney World

The 2016 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival continues at the Walt Disney World Resort. The annual spring festival features unique floral displays, tasty food and topiaries inspired by Disney characters. Each weekend features live musical performances. This weekend, the musical guest is Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone. Admission to the festival is included with regular park admission. Visit their website for more information.

Tampa area

Dunedin Highland Games & Festival

Dunedin is celebrating its Scottish heritage with the Highland Games. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy live music and entertainment, food and beer, and of course, the Highland Games! Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday at Highlander Park on 1920 Pinehurst Road in Dunedin. The festivities continue through 7 p.m. Admission is $18 and free for children under age 13. Gasparilla International Film Festival

The festival continues through the weekend, with short films, documentaries and feature length films. The festival is happening at various locations, including Centro Ybor and the Tampa Theatre, with a family day in Centennial Park in Ybor City on Saturday. Festival of Speed

If you want to see fast vehicles on the road and in the water, then the Festival of Speed is for you. Starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, enjoy all the luxury you can handle, plus fine wine, music and cigars. The festival is at the Vinoy Park, located at 501 Fifth Avenue N.E. in St. Petersburg. DeSoto Seafood Festival

Enjoy seafood, live music and drinks at the annual DeSoto Seafood Festival. The festival is held at Sutton Park, located at Sixth Street West and 10th Avenue West in Palmetto.
